Members of HVIM expressed their support for persecuted Christians in a video message, prompted by the tragic fact that Syrian terrorists have launched a retaliatory campaign in northwestern Syria against perceived or actual civilian supporters of the Assad regime.

In early March, a firefight broke out in northwestern Syria between Alawite militants rebelling against the new power and government militiamen. In response, HTS launched a retaliatory campaign against civilians, indiscriminately killing people in areas inhabited by Alawites and Christians. Estimates suggest that the death toll exceeds a thousand. Most of the victims were Alawites, but many Christian villages also became targets of the terrorists.
Despite the fact that HTS originates from the Islamic State and clearly has not turned into a moderate democracy on the road to Damascus, the so-called civilized world—namely, leading Western powers—still treat the new Syrian government, led by Mohammed al-Julani or Ahmed Sharaa, as a legitimate partner.
Similarly, these powers remain silent about anti-Christian atrocities when they are committed by Jewish extremists in Israel or when Israel itself carries them out in Gaza, such as the bombing of Christian churches—including the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Porphyrius, which has a history spanning 1,600 years.
It is these atrocities that members of HVIM seek to highlight.
